On Monday November 24th, 2008 my mother, Frances was diagnosed with lung cancer. The tumor is behind her aorta and is inoperable.
She needs to attend chemotherapy treatments. The round-trip distance for the treatments is 60 miles.
My mother, a divorced single woman survives on $557 each month from SSI, Supplemental Security Income. At the end of the
month she does not have two nickels to rub together. She does not enjoy any excess or luxury. She has not attended a show
in over 7 years, any vehicle she has is donated to her, she has not bought herself a new article of clothing in over 21 years.
She spent her strongest years as a homemaker taking care of her children. She has no retirement monies, life insurance
or home to borrow against. She is destitute. Unfortunately myself and my husband are unable to help. Irwin Home Equity through
an error on their part, robbed us of 16 years of savings. We are without jobs. We were prodding along in life fine assisting
her financially on a monthly basis. Unfortunately Irwin Home Equity pulled the rug out from under us and stole everything
my husband and I had worked 16 years to save. Irwin Home Equity, my noteholder on my mortgage was notified on March 29th,
2005 that an error was made when the note was drafted during closing. They reported a large debt on my husband's credit report
when the debt was in fact not his. According to RESPA, HUD, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act this is against the law. Irwin
Home Equity refused to correct the mistake and ultimately took his credit and mine down from a 760 to a 400. We in the process
lost our jobs, lost our home and everything we worked 16 years to achieve financially.
My husband has been searching for work for six months, due to his poor credit he has been passed over for more than 100
jobs. We have a local small firm attorney in Michigan on the case but are told Irwin Home Equity is filing a motion to have
themselves removed from the case. According to our attorney we will more than likely not prevail.
We are unable to provide my mother with the necessary funds she needs to be able to attend chemotherapy treatment. She
is planning on going to the bus station and hoping someone witll borrow her money to take the bus to chemotherapy treatments.
Please help me help my mother. A donation of any amount would be greatfully appreciated.
Our Mission
Our mission is to assist my Mother in obtaining the necessary funds to be able to attend her chemotherapy treatments.
